Design, blog and content for the UK’s leading online wallpaper shop
We’ve worked with wallpaperdirect since we designed their very first website, launched in 2000. Wallpaperdirect today sells to home decorators all over the world, and the wallpaperdirect website (still one of our designs today) still offers a wider choice of wallpapers to more worldwide markets than any other.
We’ve been contributing to the wallpaperdirect blog since 2013, including items like 2016’s should it stay or should it go, where we presented the pre-Brexit vote decorator with the wallpapering parallel of stripping away the old or wallpapering over the cracks. We all know how that turned out.
We redesigned the blog in 2020, migrating the old Concrete 5 articles to a completely new WordPress blog.
Holistic: design, content, WordPress
Our contribution to the wallpaperdirect blog is super holistic. We designed the interface and the user experience, we’ve styled and shot photography and written articles, produced the finished site in WordPress and trained contributors to write and edit their own SEO-friendly content.
With a brief to explore articles on wallpaper pattern books through video, we came up with the wallpaperdirect book club, which will use short, simply shot video to explore and discuss new wallpaper collections each month. Video will lets us show off metallic finishes and textures and will include commentary from the wallcoverings team.
Each article on the blog funnels readers through to carefully selected wallpapers to buy on wallpaperdirect.
